Dellin Betances Shares Funny Quote About How Far He's Come Since Spring Training
By Karl Rasmussen

The Yankees have been without one of their best assets for the entire season thus far, as hard-throwing hurler Dellin Betances is shelved with a shoulder injury.
Talking with reporters Friday, Betances was asked if he felt healthier now than he did in Spring Training when the knock was picked up. The right-hander, clearly eager to return to big league action, had a funny response.
Asked earlier if Dellin Betances felt at any point in spring training as healthy and strong as he does now, Dellin replied: "Hell no. I felt like shit in spring training."

Well, there you have it.
Betances wasn't shy in revealing that he wasn't feeling strong or healthy during the spring, but his quote should encourage Yankee fans as he is working towards a return to the hill, and keeping a positive mindset while doing so.
The next step for the 31-year-old reliever will be facing live batters, and he'll likely depart on a rehab assignment shortly after that.
Betances is coming off of a 2018 season that saw him record a 2.70 ERA across 66 relief appearances. He struck out 115 batters in 66.2 innings of work, good for a K/9 of 15.5, tied for the highest of his career.
CC Sabathia (knee) threw a bullpen today and is in line to come off the IL and start Sunday, per Aaron Boone.

Dellin Betances (shoulder) has thrown two bullpens and might may start facing hitters as soon as next week, Boone said.
The Yankees bullpen has been effective in Betances' stead, for the most part, but the return of the four-time All-Star will be a big boost to a team that is battling a myriad of injuries.
