Dellin Betances Continued Flat Ground Throwing Program on Monday
By Parker White

New York Yankees reliever Dellin Betances is progressing gradually after starting the season on the injured list with a shoulder impingement.
On Sunday, Betances began throwing on flat ground. He continued that on Monday by making 50 throws from 105 feet. This is the second day of five straight he'll be throwing on flat ground from various distances.
Dellin Betances did 50 throws from 105 feet today. Will be throwing five days in a row (with various distances). He's not sure what the plan is for after that.

Bentances hopes that he'll be able to return in June, but he doesn't know when he'll begin throwing off a mound, an important next step in the course of his recovery.
Dellin Betances is tossing at 100 feet. He hasn’t been told when they’ll allow him to throw from a mound, but he is hopeful for a June return to the big league bullpen.

One of New York's perceived strengths coming into the 2019 season was their bullpen, but right now they rank just 13th in the league in bullpen ERA (4.04). They do rank fifth in strikeouts (201), which should go up even further once Betances returns, but fans in the Bronx will still have to wait a while longer.
