The Georgia Bulldogs have cleaned up in recruiting this year, taking home the No. 1 class on the back of a parade of 5-stars coming to Athens. Even with that title, they're still flexing their muscles and taking players away from SEC rivals.

Louisiana defensive back Daran Branch, a 6-foot-2,180-pounder who can play anywhere in the secondary, committed to Georgia after originally pledging himself to Ole Miss.

It looks like Lane Kiffin has scared some recruits away.

Branch, a 3-star defensive back, was considered a 50-50 coin flip between Georgia and Ole Miss, who fired Matt Luke and replaced him with Kiffin. Luke was since named the associate head coach under Smart at Georgia, which could have helped steer Branch to Athens.

Southern Miss, Auburn, Colorado and Tennessee were also interested in Branch, but the chance to join the Bulldogs was too good to pass up.

Branch isn't the most high-profile addition Smart and the Bulldogs can brag about this year, but it has to feel good for Bulldog fans to swipe a player as talented as he is away from an SEC enemy.
