David Wells and David Cone are best remembered for the pivotal roles the played as members of the starting rotation for the 114-win 1998 Yankees.

They're also known for throwing down buckets of beer with impressive feracity.

The two certainly had a history of partying during their tenure in the Boogie Down Bronx, as Wells was more than willing to sum up in a couple hilarious sentences on live television Saturday.

"We've tamed it down a bit," said Wells of he and Cone's drinking practices. "Now it's two and done instead of 25 and done."

Truly an iconic quote from the 1998 ALCS MVP.

It's a hilarious insight into the bond between the two pitchers who finished third and fourth in AL Cy Young voting back in 1998.

Wells definitely had his share of drinks during that 1998 season, and he unashamedly admits that he tossed his perfect game that year in a bit of a drunken stupor.

If anything, that adds to just how outstanding Wells was that year. Not known as a strikeout artist by any means, Wells managed to completely shut down the Twins' offense for an entire game.

Yet even as he's mellowed at the age of 56, Wells still has maintained his sense of humor.

He and Coney have to do a game together soon, right? It would be amazing.
