As negotiations for a new NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement continue, so too do the negotiations between the Dallas Cowboys and their stars Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper. However, a new adjustment to the franchise tag designation period lets some weight off of the Cowboys' shoulders.

The new deadline is set for March 16. The four-day extension gives Dallas more time to see if they can agree to the blockbuster contracts both players will be looking for.

For months now, the talk around Dallas has been whether or not the Cowboys and Prescott would be able to agree to a new deal. Per a report, Jones put more than $100 million guaranteed on the table last week.

In a perfect world the Cowboys could sign both Prescott and Cooper, saving the franchise tag for someone else. It may not be an easy feat to pull off, but with more time, it could be a little bit more feasible. All eyes will be on Jones to see if he'll be able to work his magic.
