The contract dilemma surrounding Dak Prescott has been, and will continue to be, a prominent storyline of the NFL's offseason until, well, terms of an extension are finalized. The elongated standoff between Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys has come as a shock to most analysts simply because it was a predicament the organization should have foreseen back in 2016 when Dak took the league by storm in his rookie season after succeeding Tony Romo. However, it's all become very clear as to why talks are at a standstill: Prescott isn't exactly being very compliant.

That doesn't quite sound like the player who is adored for the manner in which he thrives behind the microphone.

Kimberley Martin of Yahoo! Sports asked the 26-year-old signal caller if he was worth $40 million per year.

"You tell me,” Prescott replied. "You’re the prognosticator."

The footage confirms that Prescott's utterances weren't as snide as they might have come off, though an awkward moment did crop up when Martin reminded the Mississippi product that she isn't the one "writing the checks."

Still, Dak could have been more neighborly with some of his replies. All the questions Martin asked were more than applicable to his present contract dilemma.

If nothing else, Prescott's comments prove he wants the biggest contract possible. Don't expect a deal to be finalized anytime soon, despite Dallas' ambition to get an agreement inked before the end of the franchise tag window on March 10.
