Cubs Reportedly Sign Infielder Corban Joseph
By Jerry Trotta

Stop the presses, folks, because the Chicago Cubs have proven that they still have a heartbeat.
After going dormant virtually all offseason, all while watching previous contributors, most notably Nicholas Castellanos and Pedro Strop, sign with division rivals, the Cubs have sprung into action.
On Friday, MLB insider Chris Cotillo reported that Chicago inked veteran infielder Corban Joseph to a minor league contract.

Joseph has bounced around the league since making his debut in 2013, spending time with the Yankees, Orioles, Athletics, Giants, and Pirates.
Pittsburgh claimed the Franklin High School product off waivers in September after he was designated for assignment by San Francisco. After terrorizing minor league pitching, Joseph failed to make a name for himself following his promotion to the big time.
In 97 games in Triple-A, the 31-year-old hit .371/.421/.585 alongside 13 home runs, 73 RBI, 63 runs scored, 35 doubles, and a 1.006 OPS. However, he slumped to a .151 mark in 19 games between the Athletics and Giants.

Joseph will look to put those struggles in the past and enter Spring Training with the objective of making the Cubs' opening day roster.
