Cubs Reliever Brandon Morrow Dealing With Chest Strain in Spring Training
By Sean Facey

2020 seems to be following the same storyline that characterized the 2019 season for Brandon Morrow.
After missing last year's season due to elbow issues, the Chicago Cubs reliever has started out spring training dealing with a chest strain. There's no clear date for when he might get back into action.
Cubs right-hander Brandon Morrow is down for at least a few days with what the team is calling a mild right upper chest strain. No clear timetable right now. Felt it in his last bullpen session.

It's truly a shame to see Morrow's attempt at a comeback season start off with an injury. At the age of 35, his time in the league may be running short.
If he can come back soon, then the Cubs will have themselves a high-upside reliever on their hands. Since the start of 2015, Morrow has posted an impressive 2.04 ERA in 103 appearances, registering 112 strikeouts in the process.
And the Cubs sorely need his help. Last year, their bullpen ranked 20th in all of baseball in fWAR, and their 4.54 FIP was 15th.

Chicago needs him pitching in the late innings in 2020 if they want to be competitive in the NL Central.
Only time will tell if this seriously prolongs him from making his return to relevance with the squad.
