Cubs Option Reliever Carl Edwards Jr to Triple-A
By Parker White

On Monday, the Chicago Cubs decided to option right-handed pitcher Carl Edwards Jr. to Triple-A Iowa after another disappointing outing on Sunday.
This is the second time this season Edwards Jr. has been optioned to the minors.

The Cubs haven't made an official roster move to replace Edwards, but the rumor is right-handed pitcher Rowan Wick will be recalled, according to ESPN's Jesse Rogers.

Heard Rowan Wick's name as possible replacement.
Edwards was recently activated from the injured list last week, after being out quite some time with a left thoracic strain in his back near his non-throwing shoulder.

Despite having success down in the minors, Edwards has been a train wreck at the big league level, posting a 5.87 ERA over 20 appearances. He is averaging more than a strikeout per inning, but Edwards has given up 11 runs on eight hits and nine walks over 15.1 innings.
If Wick gets the call up, he's made five big league appearances this season and owns a 3.86 ERA over seven innings of work.
