The whole world enjoyed Aaron Boone calling out the home plate umpire for ruining the afternoon of his "f***ing savages" at the plate on Thursday, right?

Well, not the umpire's crew chief.

In the postgame scrum following Game 2 of the doubleheader, Gerry Davis made it entirely clear that he was not amused, and felt Boone went too far.

Yes, it's true that you can't argue balls and strikes. Yes, that's also entirely irrelevant.

Boone knew what he was doing! Sticking up for his team, a squad that watches Aaron Judge get punched out on pitches that somehow land below his feet on the daily. Of course it went too far! Boonie had no intention of sticking it out through that game.

So, for next, time, Aaron, make sure not to hurt any crew chiefs' feelings! If even one person dislikes you, your extremely viral moment wasn't a success.
