The rich get richer in the college basketball world. And of course, we're talking about the Kentucky Wildcats.
On Friday, Creighton graduate transfer Davion Mintz sent out a tweet to announce his commitment to John Calipari's Wildcats squad. The point guard will now be immediately eligible to play for Kentucky's basketball program during the 2020-21 season.

One week ago, Mintz revealed his intent to move on from Creighton after redshirting last season due to an ankle injury. Now, Mintz slots in as Calipari's starting guard after Ashton Hagans and Tyrese Maxey declared for the NBA Draft.
Mintz initially started his collegiate career as a role player off the bench, but he truly broke out during his junior season. In 35 games, Mintz averaged 9.7 points, 3.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.1 steals in 28.9 minutes. Additionally, he shot 41.6% from the field.
Mintz was Step 1 in Kentucky’s plan to get older. Now the Cats need at least one veteran big man.

Mintz says don’t you worry about that. Calipari is on it.https://t.co/RsrltVMg6L
Calipari wanted to add an experienced player off the transfer market to help complement his young roster. He now gets that in Mintz, a guard with NCAA Tournament experience who can both shoot and defend effectively.
