The Dallas Cowboys came alive in the 4th quarter of their Monday Night Football matchup against the New York Giants, and former sixth-round pick safety Xavier Woods led the charge. The old Louisiana Tech Bulldog was eventually named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week after piling up four tackles and intercepting NYG quarterback Daniel Jones.

Woods, who was picked 191th overall in 2017, has been nothing short of spectacular over the last few weeks. With 44 tackles and two picks this season, his breakout is in full effect.
Woods also forced a fumble when Jones tried to squeeze through Cowboys defenders for a few extra yards, capping off his sensational day.

With plenty of talk that Byron Jones could be on his way out of Dallas due to the amount of money doled out to other star players, Woods is making his case for a starting role and showing that the Cowboys can still have a formidable secondary in the future.
