Cowboys Sign Young QB You've Probably Never Heard of
By Ryan Giglio

Is Dak Prescott's position as QB1 for the Dallas Cowboys in jeopardy? No, but Prescott's presence didn't stop owner and general manager Jerry Jones from signing quarterback Taryn Christion before training camp. With Prescott, Christion, Cooper Rush and Mike White, Dallas now has four quarterbacks in camp.
Christion was with the Seattle Seahawks before being released in May. The South Dakota State product is a multi-threat quarterback with the ability to use his legs when needed.

While Prescott is no doubt the starting quarterback in 2019 unless there's an injury, there is no current favorite to be his backup. Of the three other quarterback options in camp, only Rush has NFL stats, going 1-for-3 on pass attempts for a total of two yards.

It seems that despite Christion's lack of name recognition, he has a shot to make the roster out of camp. At the very least, maybe he could be the Cowboys' version of the Saints' Taysom Hill, a speedy quarterback who can play several positions on offense and special teams.
