Cowboys Rookie Connor McGovern Reportedly Suffers Injury Setback and Season Could Be in Jeopardy
By Mark Powell

The Cowboys offensive line depth just took a bit of a hit, and with it the rookie season of one of their more promising draft picks is in jeopardy.
Dallas' third-round pick Connor McGovern has reportedly suffered a setback in his recovery from a pectoral injury, and might miss the entire season as a result.

McGovern was a curious pick to begin with given their notoriously deep and gifted offensive line, but they saw something in the former Penn State Nittany Lion, and opted to take who they believed to be the best player available.
Considering his status as one of the Cowboys' higher draft picks, the team's depth doesn't offer much solace as fans and staff alike expected McGovern to offer some semblance of contribution.
So what's the best case scenario for Connor McGovern in 2020? Connor Williams moves to RT and McGovern slides in at LG?

If Williams excels this year at LG, I can't see Dallas wanting to move him.
McGovern's potential as a starter, however, was unlikely to be delivered upon until 2020 anyway. With the Cowboys welcoming the next generation of blockers into the fold, McGovern and Connor Williams surely fit into their future plans.
Should McGovern make a full recovery, he could very well remain on the timeline the Cowboys envisioned for him when they selected him in April.
