Cowboys Reportedly Poach TE Coach Lunda Wells From the Giants

Mike McCarthy has already earned his first victory over the New York Giants.
On Wednesday morning, McCarthy and Dallas were reportedly able to land former New York Giants tight ends coach Lunda Wells, who will head to the Cowboys to man the same post.

While adding a new tight ends coach won't always steal headlines across the country, this is a good start for McCarthy. He's slowly but surely putting together his staff, and anytime you can steal a rival coach in the NFC East, it sends a message to the other teams in the division.
Wells first joined the Giants in 2012 as an offensive assistant. From 2013-2017, he was then the assistant offensive line coach. In 2018, he was promoted to tight ends coach. The 36-year-old's coaching career began with LSU in 2008 as an offensive line assistant.

With Joe Judge arriving as the new head coach for the Giants, it was up in the air if Wells would return to East Rutherford or not. The Cowboys made the decision easy for Wells, though, giving him the chance to join forces with McCarthy in Arlington.
