We've pretty much seen it all as it pertains to Ezekiel Elliott on this Sunday. Well, everything but a contract extension!

A profusion of reports broke earlier in the day that the Pro-Bowl tailback and the Dallas Cowboys were closing in on an agreement on terms to a contract extension to end Zeke's prolonged holdout. A few hours later, however, and it was shockingly reported that both sides were anywhere but close to a compromise.

Now, NFL insider Charles Robinson understands that the Cowboys and Elliott were in touch earlier Sunday, but the organization was ultimately "frustrated" with the conversation as virtually no progress was made.

And thus, the stalemate lives on in infamy.

At the rate things have contradicted themselves over recent weeks, we'd be genuinely stunned if any compliance is reported.

The bottom line is that the Ohio State product wants to be one of, if not the, highest-paid RB in the league, and until the Cowboys cough up that kind of cash, he is more than fine to continue training in Cabo.

As always, stay tuned for updates on the predicament, but, given today's rollercoaster, we'd advise to take any future report with a grain of salt.
