Good news coming out of Cowboys camp -- safety Xavier Woods isn't expected to miss as much time as the team initially thought, after he suffered a high ankle sprain against the Redskins during their NFL Week 2 matchup.

Woods' original timetable was 4-to-6 weeks, though further evaluations showed that the 24-year-old could return earlier than that.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told 105.3FM The Fan that Woods' youth and position could allow him to come back sooner rather than later -- in fact, the team hasn't even completely ruled him out for Week 3's matchup against the Dolphins.

Although, if there is a game in this slate where you don't need to put your best lineup out there, it is against Miami (sorry, Dolphins fans), and Dallas should be keen on playing it safe and having Woods sit out on Sunday.

Woods has put together 13 solo tackles through two games this season, and many are hoping to see him out on the field again...including Xavier Woods, the WWE performer with the same name.

Woods will be sorely missed, as an integral part of the Dallas defense, but at least the Cowboys can breathe a sigh of relief, knowing he'll be back soon.
