It has been over four months since Dallas Cowboys defensive end Randy Gregory was suspended by the NFL for violating the league's substance abuse policy, and it looks as though he will make a run at being reinstated.

Gregory will seek reinstatement from the league and is looking to be back with the Cowboys in time for training camp, per David Moore of SportsDay.

Gregory has been suspended four separate times since being selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft, accumulating more games of ineligibility than games played in his career.

The Nebraska product suffers from bipolar depression and clinical anxiety, and has been known to self-medicate with marijuana which has led to these consequences in the past. While this is no excuse, there is always a chance that the athlete finally understands his wrongdoing and is ready to move on and be a professional.

Despite struggling with these demons, Dallas still hasn't given up hope for the 26 year-old, who has shown flashes of brilliance on the field over the past couple of seasons. In 2018, Gregory recorded 25 tackles, 6 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovery in 14 games played.

Gregory has yet to file any paperwork for his reinstatement, and the Cowboys will begin training camp in late July. He will likely face a suspension from the league, however, it is possible that the Jacksonville native can still salvage what's left of his NFL career if he is granted his reinstatement.
