Cowboys QB Dak Prescott Still Somehow Got Screwed the Most by Dropped Passes Last Season

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is the most polarizing player in the NFL. As he looks for a lucrative contract extension this year, there are plenty of critics who say he's not worth it, citing that he only puts up good numbers because of his supporting cast. As it turns out, however, one portion of his offense let him down last season.

According to Pro Football Focus, Prescott led all quarterbacks in air yards lost due to dropped passes last year with 392.

It's crazy to think that Dallas' 2019 receiving corps, consisting of Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup, and Randall Cobb, all let Prescott down. What's most staggering is that Prescott actually leads Carson Wentz here, who had 391 air yards lost.

If you watched the Philadelphia Eagles last season, you're fully aware that their offense suffered from what may as well have been the bubonic plague. Alshon Jeffery and Nelson Agholor went down with season-ending injuries, forcing Wentz to throw passes to the likes of JJ Arcega-Whiteside and Greg Ward Jr. Despite that, Wentz had fewer air yards lost and dropped passes than Prescott!

Even with these unfortunate numbers, Prescott still threw for 4,902 yards and 30 touchdowns on the year. Hopefully the Cowboys signal-caller can see a decrease in drops in 2020 with the addition of CeeDee Lamb to his arsenal.
