The Dallas Cowboys have placed the franchise tag on Dak Prescott and signed Amari Cooper to a $100 million deal this offseason. The team still has around $17 million in cap space, but it'd be best to save that dough for the upcoming draft in case they're considering a couple of big moves.

One position of need is wide receiver. Cooper is the top guy currently on the roster, with Michael Gallup as the only legitimate threat behind him. After that is a steep drop-off. While receiver is a glaring need, the team may also have its eyes on one of the best defensive backs in the 2020 draft class.

Kristian Fulton is projected to be taken in one of the first two rounds. The same is true for Zack Baun, but Fulton would provide an instant replacement for the departed Byron Jones.

The key for the Cowboys is finding a way to land Fulton and to grab one of the top receivers in the draft. In the top 100, the team owns picks No. 17, No. 51, and No. 82 overall. Four picks remains after that.

The best scenario would be to snag a receiver at No. 17 overall and not worry about trading up from there. Who knows, one of Jerry Jeudy, CeeDee Lamb, Henry Ruggs and Tee Higgins could be available depending on what the 49ers, Broncos and Raiders do. Whatever the case, the Cowboys need to take the top wideout available at that spot. After that, Dallas needs to trade up in the second round to take Fulton. Package the No. 51 pick with some late-rounders or perhaps a mid-rounder next year to jump up and snag the LSU corner.

Dallas clearly likes Fulton and has made that known to the world. If the Cowboys can come out of the draft with a top wideout and a skilled corner like Fulton to further bolster both sides of the ball, it'd be a colossal win for them considering all the work in free agency that's already been done.

The only problem could be Jones' interest in Oklahoma QB Jalen Hurts. Dallas would have a tough time grabbing all three of these talents if that's the goal, but never say never when Jerry is running the show.
