Jason Witten Promises to Waste Zero Time Making Decision About His Future Following Season

Jason Witten left the Dallas Cowboys after the 2017 season to take on a career in broadcasting as the color commentator for Monday Night Football. That didn't exactly go as planned, and Witten returned to the Cowboys for the 2019 season and a possible shot at a Super Bowl.
The Cowboys are now in danger of missing the postseason, and Witten has subsequently made it clear he will make a quick decision as to what he will do in 2020.

Witten is in a tough position. He left a lucrative job to get back on the field, but based on all the negative reviews, that old gig is likely not waiting with open arms.
When he is properly done playing, Witten claims to want to pursue a career in coaching rather than returning to the broadcast booth. The timeline for that transition, however, is unclear given his desire to hack it in the NFL.
Jason Witten is asked if coaching is in his immediate future:

“Yeah, I think so,” he said. “When I’m done playing, that’s something I’d like to do, for sure.”
What level?
“Right here (NFL),” Witten said.
Witten wanting to coach will surely lead to wild and unfounded rumors about his chances of replacing Jason Garrett in Dallas, his utter lack of coaching experience notwithstanding. That would not be a wise move, but it is tough to put anything past Jerry Jones, isn't it?
Witten's future will soon become clear if the Cowboys don't make the playoffs. If his team miraculously wins the NFC East, however, the playoff fever may have him considering coming back to the playing field in 2020.
