3 Reasonable Tight End Options the Cowboys Need to Target in Free Agency

The Dallas Cowboys have enough to worry about this offseason, but many seem to be overlooking the void they're about to have at the tight end position with Jason Witten hitting free agency. Blake Jarwin, while a solid option, is not the kind of guy who will elevate one of the best offenses in the NFL.

Jerry Jones and the front office are heavily focused on Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper right now, but here are three (what we can expect to be) reasonably-priced tight ends they should try to scoop up in free agency quickly.

3. Darren Fells

Fells is the least attractive of these options at 34 years of age, but he proved he's got a few years left in the tank after a career season with the Houston Texans. It wasn't anything groundbreaking, but Fells hauled in 34 receptions for 341 yards and seven touchdowns, proving to be a reliable red zone threat. Prescott could use another one of those over the next couple years.

2. Jacob Hollister

The Seattle Seahawks need to focus on taking care of some more important in-house guys like Jadeveon Clowney, so it's hard to believe they'll prioritize restricted free agent tight end Jacob Hollister, especially with Will Dissly expected to be fully healthy for the 2020 season. Dallas could offer Hollister a backloaded inexpensive multi-year deal to help them pay for Prescott and Cooper in the short term and give the offense a reliable option at tight end for the foreseeable future.

1. Eric Ebron

After a disappointing performance in his contract year, Eric Ebron could definitely be had for a bargain price. He played in only 11 games (started two) and recorded 31 receptions for 375 yards and three touchdowns. We've seen what he's capable of after his Pro Bowl campaign in 2018, so the Cowboys could get themselves a steal here if they play their cards right.
