Cowboys Fans Will Be Glad to Hear Ezekiel Elliott is Apparently in Great Shape
By Sean Facey

At least there's some good news for Cowboys fans.
Though Ezekiel Elliott's contract stalemate has Cowboys faithful fretting over his future with the team, fans will be glad to know that their star running back is staying in great shape.
While he is away from the Cowboys, Ezekiel Elliott’s weight is in the low 220s, the lowest it has been since his rookie year, per source. If and when the two sides can work out a deal, Elliott will be all ready to go.

According to Adam Schefter, Zeke is weighing in around the low 220-pound range, his lowest weight since his rookie season. Elliott entered the league from Ohio State weighing roughly 225 pounds and was just under 230 pounds last year.
Of course this also means that neither the fans nor the team should worry about him being game-ready. Unlike Le'Veon Bell, who reportedly let himself go a bit while he engaged in his holdout last year, the moment Elliott inks a new deal, he'll be ready to hit the ground running.
Zeke has been the heart and soul of the Cowboys' offense ever since he was drafted, leading the league in rushing yards per game each year since 2016 while pacing running backs in rushes twice in that span.

There's no end to negotiations in sight as of yet for Elliott and the Cowboys, but it's great to know he's keeping his body in peak condition. With his weight down, perhaps 2019 will feature a shiftier Elliott than ever before, putting less focus on running right through his opposition, and having more inclination to find an open hole in the trenches.
