For Dallas Cowboys fans hoping to see veteran linebacker Rolando McClain make plays for the team's defense this season, it surely doesn't look like it's going to happen.

After being reinstated by the NFL on Friday, reports have already leaked out of Dallas stating the team is planning to release the troubled 'backer.

So much for that. McClain sure has had a rollercoaster of a ride in the NFL. A first-round pick in 2010 by the Raiders, McClain spent three seasons in Oakland before being cut. He then joined Baltimore, only to retire, then unretire the next year and get traded to Dallas.

McClain started a total of 23 games between the 2014-15 seasons, but then was suspended indefinitely by the NFL in 2016 for multiple failed drug tests.

McClain made it clear he wants another crack at making plays in the NFL and close out his career the right way. However, it looks like that opportunity will have to come outside of Dallas.
