There is one number in Dallas Cowboys history that has been reserved for the best of the best at the wide receiver position. That of course is the No. 88.

From Drew Pearson, to Michael Irvin, to Dez Bryant, elite receivers have worn the number and some may wonder why it's not retired. That is because the Cowboys are a franchise that doesn't retire numbers. That has allowed the No. 88 to belong to a new player in 2020 in CeeDee Lamb. The rookie receiver will try to fill big shoes and a graphic of him in the new numbers should have fans fired up in Dallas.

The expectations will be high for the rookie out of Oklahoma. The Cowboys used the No. 17 overall pick on Lamb and he now pairs up alongside Amari Cooper as the team tries to build an elite offense.

Seeing him in the jersey makes it real. Hopefully, everyone remembers he is still a rookie and it will take some time to live up to that No. 88 jersey. That still won't stop the hype and it is hard not to get excited about the speedy young receiver.
