Cowboys and Amari Cooper Reportedly in Stalemate in Contract Extension Talks
By Sean Facey

Monday just isn't the Cowboys' day.
After video surfaced of star running back Ezekiel Elliott getting handcuffed, Amari Cooper and the Dallas Cowboys are now reportedly in a stalemate in contract extension talks.
Per a source, contract talks between the Cowboys and receiver Amari Cooper remain at a stalemate, stuck in neutral and going nowhere _ however, you want to characterize it.

Cooper gave the Cowboys the spark they need in the receiving game last year. A mid-season acquisition, he averaged over 80 yards per game with six touchdowns and 725 yards in nine starts.
Signing him to an extension is an absolute must for Dallas. Ever since Dez Bryant left, they've struggled to squeeze production out of their wide receivers. He out-gained every other Cowboys receiver in 2018 despite spending the first half of the season in Oakland.
2019 is the final year of Cooper's rookie deal. He's set to make almost $14 million throughout the course of the season.

Finishing an extension before the season starts might also end up saving the Cowboys a handsome chunk of change in the long run.
If they don't get a deal done and Cooper thrives under new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, he might just play himself out of their pay grade.
