Cowboys WR Amari Cooper Made the Best Career Decision Possible by Turning Down More Money From Redskins
By Michael Luciano

It looked unlikely that the Dallas Cowboys would be able to retain both Amari Cooper and Dak Prescott, but Jerry Jones pulled it off, signing the former to a five-year, $100 million contract that makes him one of the highest-paid wide receivers in the league.
Cooper avoided career suicide by choosing to re-sign in Dallas, as he turned down a massive deal from the Washington Redskins that would have helped him challenge Julio Jones for the title of highest-paid wide receiver in the league.

Unfortunately for Dwayne Haskins, Cooper is staying with Washington's hated NFC East rival.
Rather than go to a lousy franchise that is poised for another season with double-digit losses under the guidance of a new head coach and a second-year quarterback, Cooper chose to stay with offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, quarterback Dak Prescott, and the sterling Cowboys organization.
Fresh off a career year and just a bad break or two away from the playoffs, Cooper made the sensible move by eschewing the money Dan Snyder offered him in Washington.

For all of Snyder's many unforgivable faults, he has at least shown that he wants to build a winner and is willing to write a big enough check to do so. Unfortunately, the extra money couldn't distract Cooper from the rotten culture and rebuilding team, which led to him signing back in Dallas for the next five campaigns.
