Cowboys' Acquisition of Robert Quinn Could Turn Out to Be Most Underrated Offseason Move

The Dallas Cowboys added a much-needed pass rusher to the mix when they acquired Robert Quinn from the Miami Dolphins in exchange for a 2020 sixth-round pick back in late March.

With nine seasons under his belt, Quinn is a proven commodity but has struggled to replicate the All-Pro form that he flashed with the then-St. Louis Rams in 2013. Since then, he's reached just one Pro Bowl (2014) and has descended into an above-average rusher.

With that being said, there's still plenty of talent to be unleashed in Quinn and, according to Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Marinelli, the 29-year-old has been exemplifying that notion throughout OTAs and minicamp.

If this quote told us anything it's that Quinn is HUNGRY and ready to take advantage of the starting role that is presented to him thanks to Randy Gregory's indefinite suspension.

And for some reason, which we can't quite understand, Quinn's acquisition has flown considerably under the radar this offseason. Not only did Dallas add a player who will unquestionably take double teams away from Demarcus Lawrence, Quinn is fresh off a productive 2018 season where he compiled 15 QB hits, 6.5 sacks, and 38 tackles, 9 of which went for a loss.

And going against world-beating left tackle Tyron Smith in practice is only bound to up his game even more.

If Quinn remains healthy and provides consistent pressure to complement Lawrence and protect Dallas' suspect secondary, then we could be looking at his purchase (for a SIXTH-rounder) as the move of the offseason when all is said and done.
