After years of being blackballed by the NFL, Colin Kaepernick is finally taking the necessary steps for a long-awaited return. The former San Francisco 49ers star is scheduling a private workout in Atlanta on Saturday for all teams potentially interested in bringing him aboard.

Given Kaepernick's reputation, that news came with some controversy, but it appears that his workout has garnered the interest in the majority of teams.

Roughly 24 hours after it was reported that 12 teams would be attending the workout, Adam Schefter disclosed on Friday that 24 or more teams are expected to show up.

That's right, folks, the number literally doubled from Thursday.

Of course, what really matters is the intent of the coaches, GMs and scouts in attendance.

The term "teams" might sound appealing on the surface, but it would be nice to know how serious these franchises really are about signing Kap.

This news is definitely a step in the right direction for the Nevada product, but we won't believe that this is anything more than a hoax until Kaepernick is actually on an NFL roster.
