The Boston Red Sox have been accused of stealing signs just like the Houston Astros, who are currently being put through hell now that they returned to spring training and had to face the media.

Red Sox starter Chris Sale asserted that they haven't cheated in any shape or form, citing his own performance last season as proof.

Sale's ERA nearly doubled in 2019, as he followed up a 2018 season in which he put up a minuscule 2.11 ERA with a 4.40 ERA last year. He was shut down for the season in early August, and his decline was one of the main reasons Boston was not in the playoffs.

Sale did comment on the Astros and their now infamous sign-stealing, as he claims that he was surprised how easily Houston was able to pick up on his slider and fastball when they played in the ALDS.

Getting confirmation via trash can banging makes thing so much easier.

Most MLB players, like Cody Bellinger and Kris Bryant, have come out and made public statements that attacked the Astros in the most extreme of fashions, and the same could be coming for the Red Sox if they are found guilty of a similar amount of transgressions.

At least Sale managed to find a little levity amidst what has been a few turbulent months for the Red Sox and baseball as a whole.
