Tyreek Hill making headlines for being disciplined by the NFL isn't exactly a new concept. What is noteworthy, however, is the ridiculous reason Hill has now been punished. The short summation? "Give peace a chance" is not something the NFL believes.

No peace signs allowed, NFL players!

This is yet another time that the NFL deems a harmless celebration to be excessive. The league also was criticized after they fined Packers running back Aaron Jones for waving goodbye to a Cowboys defender while entering the end-zone. Why fine offensive players for celebrating going in to the end zone when virtually every other type of celebration is allowed now? It's hard to imagine an explanation about "the integrity of the game" given everything else that's permitted.

Sack celebrations, first-down celebrations, even group celebrations are now allowed under the new "fun" NFL. So why is it frowned upon, and apparently unsportsmanlike, to wave or throw up a peace-sign to a defender as you score? It's a double standard.

For reference, this is not a fine:

But this is a fine?

Fix your rules, NFL. These are some of the greatest athletes in the world, playing one of the most brutal and physical sports in the world. Giving players the opportunity to express themselves wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.
