Chiefs Reportedly Signing Defensive Back Dakari Monroe
By Jerry Trotta

Just two weeks ago, the Kansas City Chiefs announced the release of undrafted cornerback Dakari Monroe shortly after signing the San Jose State product to a team-friendly deal.
Well, the franchise must be desperate for some defensive back depth, because NFL reporter Don Kleiman has just revealed that KC is bringing back the former first-team All-Mountain West selection in 2018, only a few weeks after cutting him loose.
#Chiefs have signed DB Dakari Monroe.

Monroe's four interceptions and 1.6 passes defended per game were amongst the best of the Mountain West defensive backs. Additionally, he led the Spartans in INTs in both 2017 and 2018, and that productivity presented him the opportunity to play in the 2019 College Gridiron Showcase.
It's also worth noting that Dakari is a considerable contributor on special teams, a dynamic that could earn him extra reps for the Chiefs.
They did waive him. Brought him back now.

Of course, this is all dependent on whether or not Monroe is able to make it through training camp, and is then presented the opportunity to prove his worth in the preseason.
By no means is the Mountain West Conference a college football world-beater, but the stats stats suggest that Monroe possesses the talent to make the roster. Only time will tell, however, if he's able to impress Andy Reid and Co.
