The NFL as a whole is currently holding their collective breath as they wait for news on the health of superstar Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who left Thursday Night Football against the Denver Broncos with what has been diagnosed as a dislocated kneecap.

Based on some preliminary examinations, Mahomes will be out at least three weeks with the dislocation. However, Mahomes will undergo an MRI to see if there is any ligament damage that will sideline him further.

Up until that point, Mahomes was as deadly as during his 2018 MVP season, if not more so. With no running game to speak of and injuries to his top receiver in Tyreek Hill and left tackle in Eric Fisher, Mahomes is still leading the league in passing yards (2,180) and touchdowns (15) while throwing just one interception, which is good for a passer rating of 113.1.

Former Panthers and Dolphins quarterback Matt Moore, who looked decent last night in relief of Mahomes, will start for Kansas City while Mahomes recuperates.

Before their Week 12 bye, Kansas City will face the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football, the Minnesota Vikings at home, the Tennessee Titans on the road, and the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football. It goes without saying their once-potent offense might look toothless without No. 15 behind center.
