The Kansas City Chiefs didn't project to do a lot of damage in the 2020 NFL Draft, but general manager Brett Veach has certainly made the most out of his limited picks.

On Day 3, the Chiefs selected Louisiana Tech safety L'Jarius Sneed, who lit up the Combine with a 4.37 40-yard ash, with the No. 138 overall pick. With his athleticism and ball skills, the former Bulldog is the ideal replacement for star Tyrann Mathieu when he eventually leaves KC.

Chiefs fans should love this pick! In 2018 and 2019 at LA Tech, Sneed receive a combined tackling grade of 86 from Pro Football Focus. When you think best-tackling safeties in the NFL, Mathieu is the first name that should come to mind.

From a physical standpoint, Sneed is more imposing than the Honey Badger. If the two-time All-Pro properly mentors him, the the 23-year-old could blossom into something special for Kansas City.

In his final two seasons as a Bulldog, Sneed compiled 87 solo tackles, six interceptions (two of which were returned for touchdowns), and 14 pass deflections. Those are numbers you simply don't see from safeties at the college level.

The Chiefs might have just landed the steal of the fourth round.
