Chiefs DL Chris Jones Expected to Play Sunday Following Injury Scare in Practice

The Kanas City Chiefs have been dealing with injuries all season. The bad luck seemed to be continuing this week when defensive tackle Chris Jones unexpectedly showed up on the injury report.
Jones injured his calf in practice and looked to be the latest Chiefs player to miss time.
Yet good news came out Sunday morning, and Jones is expected to play in this all-important contest.
#chiefs star DL Chris Jones injured his calf in one of the final plays of practice on Thursday and was held out of practice Friday. I’m told they’ll watch him work pregame, but are optimistic he’s going to be able to go today. Jones missed Week 6 vs the Texans who rushed for 192

Suffering an injury at the end of practice is brutal. Football players are just a bit tougher than the average person, so it may take unbearable pain for Smith to miss Sunday's game against the Houston Texans. Him missing the game would be a huge blow to the defense, of course.
If Chris Jones can’t go for the Chiefs, that hurts the edge rush. KC will need to blitz inside more to keep HOU from doubling Clark, and that opens up a big play

Jones is a Pro Bowl defensive tackle who leads the Chiefs with nine sacks in only 13 games played. He is a force up front, and his pass rush helps every other level of the defense establish itself.
The Chiefs appear to have avoided disaster here prior to another challenging home playoff game.
