The Chicago Bears had an absurd nine tight ends on their roster, but Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy STILL didn't think that they had their starting tight end for the 2020 season.

The Bears used the No. 43 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, acquired from the Las Vegas Raiders in the Khalil Mack trade, to select Notre Dame tight end Cole Kmet.

You can't say Nick Foles and Mitch Trubisky don't have enough weapons.

Kmet is considered the best tight end in this class by many given his skill as an in-line blocker and dominance in the red zone.

Bears fans will like to hear that Kmet answered questions about his lateral agility and overall athleticism with a dominant performance at the NFL Combine that solidified him as a top-50 pick.

Kmet is one of the better tight ends in this draft, but it doesn't make sense that the Bears would use a pick like this to acquire ANOTHER tight end when Jimmy Graham is already on the roster and getting paid well. Kmet will need to be extremely productive in Year 1 under Nagy to justify the selection.
