Chelsea turn down opening Manchester United bid for Mason Mount

If Manchester United wants to take things to the next level for landing Mason Mount this offseason, then they're going to have to get serious about their offer to Chelsea. The opening bid came in for the star midfielder and the number fell way short of what the Blues are wanting.
Right now, the expectation is that Mount will make his way to Old Trafford, but United indeed needs to step things up from a money standpoint. Will the two sides be able to get something done?

Chelsea have rejected the proposal, as per @Matt_Law_DT. No plan to accept £40m fee for Mount.

Mount would be a solid addition for the Red Devils, but he's not going to come cheap. Only time will tell if the two sides can get on the same page.
