4 Celtics You Would've Never Guessed Led the Team in Scoring

Shockingly, not every Boston Celtics season ends with a championship. The NBA's most successful franchise has brought home a record 17 championships in their illustrious history, but have had their fair share of tough seasons.

The Celtics weren't always blessed to have Larry Bird or Paul Pierce to lead the pack. These four former Celts surprisingly led the team in scoring for a full season.

4. 1993-1994: Dee Brown

Following the offseason's heartbreaking and sudden death of forward Reggie Lewis, the 1993-1994 Celtics were left without direction. A roster headlined by third-year guard Dee Brown, 40 year-old Robert Parish and Croatian Dino Radja failed to find much success, finishing 32-50. Brown led the team in scoring with 15.5 points per game. He would play 7.5 seasons in Boston before being trading to the Toronto Raptors in 1998 as part of a package for Kenny Anderson.

3. 1994-1995: Dominique Wilkins

It's a shock even to hear that Dominique Wilkins played for the Boston Celtics, but that he led the team in scoring? The former Atlanta Hawks star was 0-3 in playoff series' against the Celtics, making the move to his Eastern Conference rival a surprise. 'Nique was 35 at the time, and far less athletic than he was in his prime. Even still, he managed to lead the Celtics in scoring with 17.8 points per game before in his only season in green.

2. 1995-1996: Dino Radja

The NBA's most famous Croatian may be Chicago Bulls forward Toni Kukoc, but national teammate Dino Radja deserves love as well. Radja joined the NBA in 1994 as a member of the Boston Celtics. In his third season in 1995-1996, Radja paced the team in scoring with a career-high 19.6 points per game. Sadly, following the next season, Radja was waived by the Celtics due to injury concerns around his knee. He was out of the NBA after just four seasons.

1. 2013-2014: Jeff Green

In between the Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett era and Isaiah Thomas' time in Boston, the 2013-2014 Celtics were a rough outfit to watch. The Celtics went an abysmal 25-57, led by an outfit featuring Jeff Green, Jared Sullinger, Avery Bradley and Jordan Crawford. Green paced the rag-tag group in scoring, putting up a career high 16.9 points per game. Green was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies for Tayshaun Prince and a first-round pick the following season.
