The Houston Rockets could look to trade some of their bigger pieces in an effort to re-tool for the playoffs, which could include center and rim-runner Clint Capela.

If they decide to part with the elite rebounder, Brad Stevens and the Boston Celtics could bite.

Clint Capela Contract Details

Capela is in Year 2 of a five-year, $90 million contract. The Swiss center will be a free agent after the 2023 season.

The Celtics will need to part ways with one of their two main centers in a Capela deal, meaning either low-post offensive specialist Enes Kanter or defensive stopper Daniel Theis will have to go to Houston in a trade.

Most of Boston's young players that don't see playing time are big men, like Grant Williams and Robert Williams. One of them would have to be traded, and Robert is the most likely to go. 2019 first-round pick Romeo Langford would be coveted by Houston, but Danny Ainge wants to hang on to him and develop him. Throw in a first-round pick from Boston's comical stockpile, and Daryl Morey might finally be convinced to part with Capela.

Capela is the one big man that the Rockets can rely on, but he might need to be traded for Houston to finally find the right combination of players to make some noise in the West.
