CC Sabathia Reveals Full Extent of His Injury and it's Crazy He Was Able to Pitch at All
By Parker White

We all know that CC Sabathia is a gamer and that he'll try and pitch through injury, which is why it was even more heartbreaking to see his final appearance in the big leagues end with him walking off the mound due to a bum shoulder.
Of course, this wasn't something just anyone could pitch through.
While on his podcast with ESPN and YES Network's Ryan Ruocco, Sabathia revealed that is wasn't just a shoulder injury. Sabathia had “a tear in my rotator cuff, my labrum, and my bicep, and I did something to the capsule.”
Here’s the latest @R2C2! @CC_Sabathia dives into everything about his final time on the mound and this final season. He also reveals that he has “a tear in my rotator cuff, my labrum, and my bicep, and I did something to the capsule.” https://t.co/xECfTFyLnt

The shoulder capsule? You mean, the part of the shoulder that surrounds the joint and helps everything move with ease? Yeah, that's not a minor ache or pain. How he was able to lift his arm was incredible, much less pitch in a postseason game.
Basically, Sabathia pitched until his left arm fell off.
He threw until his arm fell off. I salute @CC_Sabathia. I know he loves the game. We talk about giving our all to the game we love. He did that. https://t.co/UQcjQX2tfy

You certainly don't wish that kind of injury on anyone, but thankfully CC now has plenty of time to recover considering he's called it quits, and focus on making the best of his post-baseball career.
