Cardinals Paying Sam Bradford, Mike Glennon and Josh Rosen a Ton of Money to Not Play for Them

The National Football League presents a constant uphill battle with the salary cap, but over time you'd think most teams would get it right for at least a short period of time.

Well, don't look at the Arizona Cardinals as a model of consistency, because this is what you call burning money.

Yikes. Finding and developing a franchise QB is a must in this league, and it appears as if the Cardinals have had a ridiculous amount of trouble making that happen. Not only did they sign the absolutely WRONG mentors to help out Josh Rosen (Sam Bradford barely has any movement left in his knees and Mike Glennon proved to be one of the worst QBs in the league just a year ago with the Bears), but they also botched their franchise QB situation when they drafted Josh Rosen in the top-10, then drafted Kyler Murray No. 1 overall the very next year, then traded Rosen to the Miami Dolphins.

Rosen's contact alone accounts for half of they Cardinals' dead cap money toward QBs.

And while head coach Kliff Kingsbury and Co. may indeed have the right signal caller in place, the fact that the wrong QBs for them are still on the payroll will only make collecting a good supporting cast for Murray that much harder.
