Cardinals Fans Blast Team Over Minority-Focused Hiring Seminar
By Sean Facey

The St. Louis Cardinals opened up applications for a four-day training program geared towards including minorities in baseball operations earlier in the week. Very good deed!
Unfortunately, some fools on social media blasted the organization for attempting to provide opportunities to minority groups, as so often occurs on social media.
I’m white. Can I apply? Also what fucking century is this?

If only these people could recognize that not everything is about them! There are means by which people can apply to work for the Cardinals regardless of their identity. However, this specific program, the First Pitch Program, is designed to introduce college students from diverse backgrounds to the career paths baseball has to offer.
People need to realize that this isn't some exclusive front office job they're offering only to minorities. It's a four-day camp.
White man need not apply.#antiwhite

It's not about the Cardinals being "anti-white." It's about them trying to broaden the scope of the game to be more inclusive and combat the racism that has plagued it for well over a century.
Also...this is a FOUR-DAY SEMINAR. It's just a nice thing. Calm down, Twitter flies.
A four day unpaid internship with no job attached to it and the people in the comments acting like this is what's stopping them from being a GM.

If anything, it's noble of the Cardinals to open up a program like this. Baseball is a sport that has long been dominated in the other direction, especially in front offices, and this is a great way to diversify the field. It's just a shame that some people are unwilling to recognize it for that.
