Cardinals LHP Andrew Miller Shut Down as He Undergoes Tests to Determine Reason for 'Lack of Feel' in Pitches

The St. Louis Cardinals were already dealing with an injury to starting pitcher Miles Mikolas, but their concerns don't end with the starting rotation.
The problems continue as relief pitcher Andrew Miller is dealing with a concerning arm issue that is described as a lack of feel for his pitches. That is never a good sign.

There is no clear injury to Miller at this point. He is just lacking command -- almost like he woke up one day and forgot how to be a professional pitcher.
Andrew Miller was apologetic for not having better answers about what he's feeling, why he's going through exams today, but he added there's a reason he doesn't have answers -- that's what they're trying to find: https://t.co/QI0H36a1RY #Cardinals #stlcards #MLB

Right now the issue is a total mystery. That is a huge concern for the Cardinals after Miller struggled in 2019 with a 4.45 ERA in 73 appearances.
Miller has no pain and that is what is most mind-boggling about this whole situation. Shutting him down for further testing appears to be the best move for a player who is set to earn $11.5 million this season.
There has to be some underlying issue the team can work toward figuring out before the start of the season. If not, it may be a risk to put Miller on the mound if he has no command.
