This Game Could Keep the Bills From Making the Playoffs

The Buffalo Bills find themselves in the strange position of sudden darlings of the AFC East now that the New England Patriots' two-decade dynasty is effectively over. After making the playoffs last season as a Wild Card team, the Bills face significant pressure in 2020 to build on their promising season and take control of the division.

But if they're going to do that, they absolutely cannot slip up when it's time to take on the Steelers in Week 14.

You may consider Pittsburgh as being on somewhat similar footing as the Bills in the conference. pecking order, especially if you live in Western PA and enjoy a nice Primanti Brothers sandwich. That's being charitable, as the Bills are on the upswing and the Steelers are trying not to lose more ground to the Ravens -- and even the Browns -- in the AFC North. Their own playoff hopes could come down to the wire, which is why Buffalo absolutely must be up to snuff when the Steel City boys come to Orchard Park on Dec. 13.

It may be a home game, but the context matters: Josh Allen and the BIlls will be coming off a short week, as they take on the 49ers on Monday Night Football six days prior all the way on the other side of the country. Even if the Steelers are limping and out of the playoff picture at this point in the year, we're still looking at a trap game.

If the Bills really are the new kings of the AFC East, this game will reveal just how legit they really are.
