This Browns WR Stat After Re-Signing of Rashard Higgins is Extremely Depressing
By Michael Luciano

The Cleveland Browns know a thing or two about wide receiver busts, as the likes of Greg Little, Brian Robiskie and Mohamed Massaquoi have let countless Browns fans down with poor play despite a high draft selection.
The Browns reversed that trend by finding a gem in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft in former Colorado State receiver Rashard Higgins. The Browns re-signed Higgins, who will compete with Damion Ratley and 2020 sixth-rounder Donovan Peoples-Jones for the No. 3 wide receiver spot, on a one-year deal worth $910,000. This is a historic day in Cleveland, as Higgins became the first receiver to sign a second contract with the team since they returned to the league in 1999.
The Browns have drafted 24 WRs since 1999 and Rashard Higgins is the first one to be re-signed by the team

???????????
The Browns have only drafted three receivers with over 2,500 receiving yards since they returned to the NFL. Travis Benjamin bolted Cleveland for the Chargers after four years, Dennis Northcutt never really took off, and Braylon Edwards was dealt to the New York Jets after a Pro Bowl season.
In fact, the only receiver that the Browns did retain past their initial rookie deal since 1999 was Josh Cribbs, who was better served as a return man and signed with the Browns as an undrafted free agent.
That is quite a stat. And pretty amazing.

Hopefully Andrew Berry nailed his first draft with the Browns, because he has nearly two decades of precedent to erase.
