After being released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, All-Pro defensive tackle Gerald McCoy is now fair game for any team willing to offer him the bag. The New England Patriots have reportedly already thrown themselves into the ring as suitors, but they will have some stern competition to land the six-time Pro Bowler.

The Cleveland Browns have also inquired about the former Buccaneer, writes insider Mary Kay Cabot, and new All-Pro wide receiver Odell Beckham sounds like he's backing that potential move.

The Browns have to look pretty tempting for McCoy with all their new and up-and-coming talent on both sides of the ball. With Olivier Vernon and Sheldon Richardson bolstering the defense, McCoy would fit in quite well in between. Let's also not forget about All-Pro pass rusher Myles Garrett, either. Quickly, the Browns could have one of the best defensive lines in the NFL after years of struggle.

McCoy would surely like to play on a contending team, as he has never made the playoffs even once in his career. We all know Cleveland is on the rise, and for that reason, the player would be smart to consider them.

McCoy ranks fourth in sacks among NFL defensive tackles since entering the league in 2010. For his career, he has recorded 54.4 sacks, 296 tackles (including) 79 for a loss) and 140 quarterback hits.

The out spoken Beckham already likes this idea. Around Browns HQ, he likely isn't alone.
