Browns Release Veteran DT Devaroe Lawrence

The Browns are in the middle of a three-game winning streak and now look like a team poised to steal a Wild Card spot in the AFC. However, one veteran defensive tackle won't be in the mix the rest of the way to try and get that job done.
On Tuesday morning, the Browns announced they've parted ways with 27-year-old DT Devaroe Lawrence.

Lawrence, in his second season with the Browns, had appeared in all 11 games for Cleveland thus far this campaign. His stats don't jump off the table, as he posted eight tackles, one fumble recovery and one interception.
This move makes perfect sense for the Browns, though, as stud DT Larry Ogunjobi will return this week following a one-game suspension from his involvement in the Myles Garrett-Mason Rudolph incident.

Lawrence is now headed to waivers, where a team in the need of a 6-2, 295-pounder now has the opportunity to pick him up.
