The Cleveland Browns' extended exploration to find Freddie Kitchens' replacement appears to have, at long last, concluded. And no, there's no good news coming for Josh McDaniels or Robert Saleh.

Unless, well, you think they'd have rather not gotten this job.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport understands that Cleveland is on the brink of appointing the Minnesota Vikings' touted offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski as their new head coach.

Ironically enough, this news comes on the heels of Minnesota's embarrassing offensive display in Saturday's loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round (and the defense helmed by Saleh himself).

Still, Stefanski had the Vikings offense humming all season long. They averaged an impressive 25.5 points per game, a mark good for seventh in the NFL.

The 37-year-old has been linked with a flurry of head coaching vacancies throughout the years, particularly this offseason.

Browns buffs will be quick to remember that Stefanski was nearly appointed as HC last offseason. Of course, Kitchens was ultimately awarded that opportunity, and proved to be an unmitigated disaster.

The bar will be set low for Stefanski, but to say that he has his work cut out for him in The Land would be an understatement.
