Browns Head Coach Freddie Kitchens Blasts Bob Wylie in Response to Criticism
By Michael Luciano

The hiring of Freddie Kitchens as Cleveland Browns head coach was an extremely divisive one. On one hand, he started the 2018 season as the running backs coach and had never been hired as a coordinator before getting the head coaching job in Cleveland. On the other, he and quarterback Baker Mayfield have an excellent relationship, and Mayfield flourished in the eight-game stretch in which Kitchens was his offensive coordinator.
Former offensive line coach and "Hard Knocks" star Bob Wylie is firmly in the anti-Kitchens camp, claiming that quarterback coach Ken Zampese "did all the coaching" in the final games of the season.

Kitchens did not hold back when asked about Wylie, implying that Wylie is simply frustrated because Kitchens chose not to retain him on his staff.
#Browns HC Freddie Kitchens: "It's about the players. When do they get the credit? Bob doesn't wear brown and orange anymore. I had the opportunity to hire Bob. I didn't want to. I went to the hospital to see Bob every week. At what point does Bob realize it was the players,.."

You can never accuse Kitchens of not being honest.
Kitchens has set a demonstrative, all-business atmosphere in Cleveland, going as far as to rip Odell Beckham for skipping OTAs and claiming he'll fire any assistant coach who leaks information to the press.

Note to self: do not cross Freddie Kitchens or insinuate he's done a bad job, because he will come after you with everything he's got, even if you aren't on the team.
