If any team out ther really needed a starting-caliber wide receiver, then the 2020 NFL Draft was the perfect opportunity to swoop in given that the class was so deep. The Cleveland Browns jumped at the chance to select Michigan's Donovan Peoples-Jones, who dropped all the way to the sixth round.

Peoples-Jones was so excited to be apart of the Browns organization that he texted new teammate Jarvis Landry after he was selected. Unfortunately, Landry was not yet aware that Cleveland had selected Peoples-Jones, so it made for a period of awkwardness until he logged onto Instagram to see that the Browns actually drafted him.

All this was news to Peoples-Jones today, as he tweeted on Thursday that Landry never told him he didn't know they were teammates during that draft day call.

Plenty of us can relate to Landry on this. You get a text from an excited friend or family member, but you have no idea what they're talking about. Just to be nice, you send generic responses only to figure it all out later and then engage in a serious exchange.

It happens to the best of us.

Peoples-Jones got Landry's number during the pre-draft process. The former Wolverine trained alongside Landry down in Florida, where the NFL veteran gave him various tips about the draft process and life in the professional ranks. Now that they're teammates, Landry has said that the rookie has asked him tons of questions about the team, which is something the six-year veteran admires.

The future is bright for Peoples-Jones, and he's got himself a hell of a mentor in Landry.
